Obituary: Ruth Nolen Dunn

Ruth Nolen Dunn, age 89, of Harrisburg, passed away at 7:56 p.m., Wednesday June 10, 2015 at the Shawnee Rose Care Center in Harrisburg.

Ruth was born on April 11, 1926 in Saline County to the late Othar and Ida (Gee) Nolen. On September 2, 1948 she married Glenn H. Dunn and he preceded her in death on December 7, 1966. Ruth was a Registered Nurse and member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Harrisburg. Ruth had two Master's Degrees one in Nursing and one in Education.

Surviving family members include her son: Michael (Joyce Resnick) Dunn of Benicia, California; daughter: Glenna Ann (Ed) Mann of Harrisburg; daughter: Elizabeth Jane Dunne of Oakland, California; son: Patrick L. (Elaine) Dunn of Crab Orchard; son: Mark Wayne (Traci) Dunn of Reno, Nevada; sister: Edna P. "Johnnie" Wilkins of Carrier Mills; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Teresa Dunn; two grandsons, Jason Matthew Mann and Gilford T. Griffin; brother, Don Nolen and two sisters.

Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Harrisburg. Father Abraham Adejoh will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 14 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorials may be made to the ALS Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
