Harrisburg Medical Center Foundation holds 15th annual golf tournament

Harrisburg Medical Center Foundation held its 15th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, an event which raised $13,529.86 for medically necessary equipment that will enable HMC to continue to provide the best possible care to our patients.

First place went to Egyptian Health Department/Koerner Distributing with a score of 21 under, second place to Redbird Machinery with a score of 19 under and Third Place to Medicine Shoppe with a score of 18 under.

Cindy Black, chairperson, helped organize the event with her committee. The committee consisted of: Rodney Smith - HMC President/CEO, Blake Wilson - HMCF Chair, Courtney Drone - HMCF Executive Director, Kendra Zirkelbach - HMCF Administrative Assistant, Becky Barnhill, Steve Black, Donna Patton, Kay Talley, Tricia Johnson, Peggy Woolard, Patty Carlson and Bimp Simpson.

Volunteers for the event included Adam Anderson, Dorene Ewell, Tonya Potts, Susie Holmes, Trudy West, Diane Haney, Kendra McHugh, Gloria Bonin, Kelly Phelps, Dr. Laura Winkleman, Richard Clark, Rita Ross, Jim & Betty Black, Jeff Smith, Jamie Hayes, John Wheatley, Tracey Bragg, John Price, Paulette Simpson, Camden Schiff, Patty Carlson, Reagan Thompson and HMC Maintenance.

Organizers thanked businesses that provided food and drink for the event. Coca Cola, Gordon Foods, Harrisburg Citgo (Knapp Oil Co), Harrisburg and Marion Dairy Queen, First Southern Bank, and Sam's Club donated water, pastries, ice, ice cream bars and granola bars. Koerner Distributors provided beverages for the day. Morello's Pizza and Grill and Wooded Hills Bar and Grill provided side dishes. Lewis Bakeries, Inc. provided hamburger and hot dog buns. Sloan Street Market provided hotdogs, and Tri-State Business Equipment, Inc. provided chicken and pork chop sandwiches.
