Students compete in SIC archery tournament

Students from five area high schools competed in Southeastern Illinois College's first high school invitational 3D archery tournament held earlier this spring.

SIC archery coach Archie Blair said he was pleased with the turnout at this year's tournament.

"This was an opportunity for our coaches to see firsthand students from the area who may end up shooting for Southeastern's archery team. It's largely from this pool that will determine the future success of 3D archery at SIC," Blair said.

Blair noted that SIC has won eight national collegiate championships in just three years and has crowned 12 All-Americans while competing against such Division I giants as Michigan State University, Purdue, Penn State, and University of Wisconsin.
