Fowler Bonan Foundation names summer event coordinator

The Fowler Bonan Foundation has announced the appointment of Whitney Nugent of Harrisburg as summer events coordinator.

A recent graduate of Southern Illinois University, Nugent will assist with planning and coordinating the foundation's three "Clothes for Kids" youth golf events, set for June 15 at Franklin County Country Club, at Shawnee Hills Country Club in Harrisburg on July 27 and at the Jackson County Country Club on July 27. A member of the John A Logan College golf team from 2010 to 2012 and the SIUC golf program from 2012 to 2014, Nugent majored in hospitality and tourism administration, with a specialization in event planning and management.

Nugent will assist foundation Executive Director Kerry Camp with event pre-planning, volunteer recruitment and organization, registration and scheduling, public relations and publicity, awards, general hospitality of all attendees, post-event assessments, and other duties.

"We are very happy to have Whitney assisting us for our busy summer months," foundation chairman Dale Fowler said. "She is a good fit for us, and I am confident she will strengthen the success of our summer programming."
