Prep Baseball: Eldorado knocked out by CWC

The Eldorado baseball was ultimately done in by a nine-run fourth inning as Carmi-White County posted a 12-2 victory in five innings over the Eagles at the CWC Class 2A Regional Thursday afternoon.

Eldorado was limited to just five hits on the day as Stanton Hathaway, Josh Pilkington, Max Kasiar, Richard Graceffa and Christian Dalton all had hits. Hathaway and Graceffa each had an RBI, while Drew Woolcott and Kasiar both scored a run.

Eldorado hung tough early, putting up one run in the top of the first, only to see CWC tack on three in the bottom half of the frame. The Eagles cut the lead to one, putting up one more run in the top of the second inning, but it wouldn't hold as the Bulldogs erupted for nine runs in the fourth inning.

Kasiar took the loss on the bump for EHS, going 3 2/3 innings, allowing 12 runs (five earned) on six hits, while striking out five and walking four. Woolcott came in out of relief, striking out one.

Carmi-White County will now play the winner of Hamilton County or Mt. Carmel in Saturday's championship at 11 a.m.
