Coal Days 2015 coming up soon

Coal Days 2015 is getting closer and closer. The dates are set from June 2 through June 6. The theme for this year's event is: "Marvel Comics in Shawneetown." The main parade will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 6. Anyone is welcome to participate. This year's entertainment is again scheduled for the evenings. Contact Mark Frailey for more information. There will also be Coal Days Pageants for various ages. Contact Melissa Charleton for more information. Arts and craft vendors will set up on the south mall. Contact Brian Wollard for more information. The carnival will be up and running Tuesday afternoon, June 2 thru Saturday night, June 6. The Shawneetown Fire Department will also be serving their famous BBQ. Other events are being planned at this time. Members of the Lions Club say they are looking forward to another fun summer carnival in Shawneetown.
