Crossing Home: A weekly review of local athletes in college

Lindsey Murray - SIU

Murray who won the the 2015 indoor conference championship in the pole vault, fell just shy of her second-straight MVC title at 4.22m (13-10.00), which ties her outdoor PR and school record. After eventual champion Kimyanna Rudolph of Indiana State cleared 4.27m (14-00.00) on her first attempt, Murray missed on hers and decided to pass and essentially force Rudolph into a jump off for the win. Neither could clear, but because Rudolph cleared 4.27m, she took the title. This is the second straight year a Saluki female freshman has finished as a runner-up, as Katie Trupp did so in 2014.
