OBITUARY: Elmer C. “Buddy” Hise

Elmer C. "Buddy" Hise, 75 of Shawneetown, passed away at his home 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015.

He was born on Feb. 6, 1940, in Shawneetown, the son of William A. and Rose (Watkins) Hise.

Buddy is survived by his three children, Terri Gentles of Shawneetown, Mike (Paula) Hise of Shawneetown, Carroll (Lori) Hise of Shawneetown; two sisters, Jean Evers of Yakima, Wash., Willidean Pinkston of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Elijah Gentles, Cassie (Daniel) Seely, Steven (Ashley) Hise, Abby Downen, Krystal (Kenny) Lane, and Lucas Hise; five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Rosemary Acord; his brother, Vernon Hise; and one grandson, Tyler Hise.

Visitation for Buddy will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015, until memorial service time at 11 a.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Family requests no flowers but donations may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.
