OBITUARY: Edna Marie Abney

Edna Marie Abney, 90 of Harrisburg, passed away at 10:54 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

Edna was born in Mitchellsville on Friday, Nov. 28, 1924, to the late Loren and Maggie (Perkins) Lambert. She married Charles Abney on Nov. 4, 1944, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2004. Edna was a homemaker and a member of Bankston Baptist Church.

Edna is survived by three sisters, Wilma Hicks of Harrisburg, Judy Briddick and husband David of Eldorado and Della Bozarth of Valparaiso, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; and two brothers, Herb Lambert and Loren Lambert.

Funeral services for Edna Marie Abney will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at Reed Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Hutson officiating. Burial will follow in Bankston Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
