OBITUARY: Carolyn Sue Shumaker

Carolyn Sue Shumaker, age 72 of Harrisburg, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, in Harrisburg Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 23, 1943, in Williamson County, to the late Fred and Irene (Neely) Travelstead. Carolyn retired as a dietary assistant at Saline Care Center after 29 years of employment. She married Chester Shumaker and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Land Street Missionary Baptist Church.

Carolyn is survived by a daughter: Penny and husband Charlie Bramlet of Eldorado; a son: Clinton and wife Robin Omohundro of Herod; her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored and considered them to be her life: Lindsay and husband John Abell of Eldorado, Casey and husband Karl Daughenbaugh of Harrisburg, Jamie Omohundro of Herod, Brooke and husband Jeff Taylor of Eldorado, and Coleman Bramlet and fiancé Marissa Blue; great-grandchildren: Emerson Abell, Wyatt Taylor, Nathaniel Taylor, Gavin Blue, Ross Daughenbaugh; and two cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday May 5, 2015, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Darrell Ford will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Reed Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
