Mayors, commissioners sworn into office
he Harrisburg City Council met in special session to swear in a new mayor and new members of the city council 9 a.m. Thursday.
Mayor Dale Fowler and Councilman John McPeek had been reelected to the governing body of Harrisburg and the mayor then swore in three new councilmen.
City Clerk Sally Wofford enacted the oath of office to returning Mayor Dale Fowler and he, in turn, then swore in the new members of the council.
The newly elected members of the council were Richard Harper, Natalie Miller and Beth Montfort. Harper took the position of Commissioner of Accounts and Finance, Miller took the position of Commissioner for Health and Safety, Montfort took the position of Commissioner of Public Property and McPeek retained the position of Commissioner of Street and Allies. The Mayor is Commissioner of Water and Sewer.
