Tractor shed fire still under investigation

A Saturday night structure fire near the intersection of South Chester Street and Hillandale Road in Steeleville is still under investigation, according to Steeleville Fire Chief Carlos Barbour.

Barbour told the Herald Tribune on Tuesday that the fire, which involved a large shed located on property owned by Delmar Knop, destroyed four tractors and various farming equipment that had been stored inside.

"I have no cause or origin at this time," Barbour said.

According to a news release from the Steeleville Fire Department, firefighters responded to the report of a shed fire at 11:25 p.m. Saturday. The shed was fully engulfed upon arrival.
