Citywide yard sale is June 13

With the Du Quoin Chamber of Commerce's successful home and garden show behind us, it's time for homeowners to clean out their closets, basements and garages to get ready for the Du Quoin citywide yard sale Saturday, June 13.

More than 30 residents signed up for the popular event last year, which will run from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on that Saturday morning. You will benefit by having your address placed on a citywide yard sale map that will be published in the Du Quoin Evening Call. You will also benefit from a great deal of publicity about the community yard sale -- all for only a $10 registration fee.

The fee covers the cost of advertising and listing your address. You need to fill out a very short registration form at the Du Quoin Tourism Office at 20 North Chestnut Street (Amtrak railroad building). The hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Or you can mail your street address (location of sale) and a brief description of the articles that you will be selling. It is important to be legible. Mail the information along with your payment of $10 to Du Quoin Tourism, PO Box 1037, Du Quoin, IL 62832.
