OBITUARY: Vivian Murphy Craig

Vivian Murphy Craig, age 94 of Carrier Mills, passed away at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, April 16, in Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

Vivian was born on Feb. 20, 1921, in Carrier Mills to the late Cecil and Anna Bailey Chase. She was married to Doug Murphy and he preceded her in death in 1974. She later married Norlen Craig on Aug. 8, 1979, and he survives.

She was a clerk at the former Pete's Grocery and later worked at Banks Pharmacy in Carrier Mills. She was Baptist by faith.

She is survived by her husband: Norlen; her son and daughter-in-law: Billy and Judy Murphy of Carrier Mills; two grandchildren: Bobby Murphy of Ozark and Debbie Newcomb of Harrisburg; two great-grandchildren, Amy and Tamara of Harrisburg; one great-great-grandchild: Baily; sister: Vonnie Beggs of Mt. Pelier, Ohio; and sister-in-law: Louise Chase of Pontiac, Mich.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents and first husband, by a son: Darryl; a daughter: Linda; and brother: Virden Chase.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Harl Cockrum officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to the service time at 1 p.m.
