Electronics recycling offered Saturday

On Saturday, April 18, the Village of Carrier Mills hosts an electronics recycling and disposal event.

The event is held on the Carrier Mills Municipal Building Parking lot, located at 101 North Mill Street, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Electronic equipment is no longer lawful for disposal in a landfill. Anything that can be plugged in is required to be recycled. Most of the items are free to dispose of, but not everything.

TV's, computer monitors and flat screens all cost $5 to be recycled.

Due to recycling costs, the following now cost $1 to be recycled: Vacuums, microwaves, printers and copiers.

In addition, the recycler will also accept used motor oil and batteries of all sizes, for free. Old paint may be dropped off as well, for $1 a gallon and tires can be recycled, but the price is based on the size of the tire.

The event is not limited to Carrier Mills residents. Anyone from the area may bring items.
