Roll a ball, protect a pet
The Angelina Foundation for Animal Welfare will be holding its 3rd Annual Bowling for PAWS Fund Raiser at the Ross Cottom Bowling Lanes on May 3.
The Foundation, established in 2013, is an animal rescue organization whose mission statement describes it as "A grass roots humane organization whose mission is to eliminate the euthanization of healthy adoptable animals and the unwanted pet population through proactive community outreach programs, low coast spay and neuter programs, education transport services."
This year's fundraiser promises to be as fun as usual with vendor's booths, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and pets ready for adoption mixed together with bowling and snacks. Bowling teams of four players per team can compete in Men's or Women's No-Tap Bowling contest of three games with the first and second place teams taking home a cash prize. No-Tap bowling scores 9 pins knocked down for Men or 8 pins for women as a strike.
The grand prize of this year's raffle is a dream prize for sports fans. It is two all inclusive UMB Champion Club Tickets to the Cardinals vs. Cubs Home Game on Saturday June 27, 2015. Each ticket includes an all-you-can eat buffet, including all spirits and non-alcoholic beverages as well as free parking.
Winner of the raffle can enjoy the game from UMB Champion Club Seating on the second deck of the stadium, explore the displays of World Series Championship Trophies, or watch the game and other sporting events from a air-condition viewing center with over 30 wide-screen TV's. The comfort of an overnight in an Executive Room at the Hilton Ballpark is the final cherry on this treat of a grand prize available through Angelina Foundation Bowling for Paws Raffle.
"It will be a lot of fun, plenty of food and friendly animals looking for a new home," Rita Diefenbach of the Foundation said.
The fundraiser begins at 1 p.m. with bowling beginning at 2 p.m. The team donation entry fee is $100 per team and raffle tickets donation cost is $5 per tickets or three for $10. Tickets are on sale now or at the day of the event. The raffle winner will be announced on May 3 and need not be present to win.
