Minor injuries in State Street crash

<span>CHESTER -- On Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., officers with the Chester Police Department were called to the scene of a car versus semi-trailer accident in the 2000 block of State Street near Reid's Harvest House.</span>

<span>According to a news release from the Chester Police Department, a 2010 Infiniti Coupe, driven by 25-year-old Cody Stewart of Chester, was stopped in the eastbound lane waiting for traffic to clear before making a left turn.</span>

<span>The Coupe was then rear-ended by a eastbound 1999 Freightliner driven by 60-year-old Michael E. Russell, of Sparta. The Freightliner is owned by S-N-D Trucking of Dowell.</span>

<span>Stewart reported minor injuries and sought medical attention under his own power, according to the release.</span>

<span>Russell was not injured and was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.</span>
