Spring cleaning in cities

It's spring cleaning time in Harrisburg.

The city's annual spring clean up effort began Monday on Veteran's Drive north of Small Street, "the old roundhouse area."

A Dumpster will be available for unwanted items through April 17 with hours 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11.

On the first day of the Harrisburg Clean Up, Jack Yates dumped yard debris at the nearby leaf and limb site.

"I'm a lifelong Harrisburg resident and I've used this all my life," Yates said.

Eldorado residents can dispose of trash by bringing it to the Eldorado City Street Barn Friday, April 10 and April 11 as part of the annual spring cleaning drive in Eldorado.

No tires, batteries, roofing or construction materials will be allowed.
