OBITUARY: Jean Weir

Jean Weir, 76 of Eldorado, died April 5, 2015, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Jean was born in Eldorado on Aug. 12, 1938, to the late Gayle and Eva (Hall) Cummings. She was a Baptist by faith, a home maker and a member of the Eldorado VFW. On Jan. 17, 1954, she married J L Weir and they were united in marriage for 61 years and he survives in Eldorado.

Besides her husband J L, she is survived by her children: a son, John Weir of Eldorado; two daughters: Gayla Robinson of Lakeland, Fla., and Linda Hayes of Eldorado. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Cristin (Ryan) Townsend, Lucas Weir, Dustin Robinson, Amanda Robinson, P.J. Hayes and Laura Hayes; three great-grandchildren: Carter Townsend, Dalton Robinson and Aubree Mayberry. She is survived by two sisters: June Shearer of Sterling and Wanda (Billy) Burklow of Eldorado; and a sister-in-law, Karen Cummings of Elgin. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gayle "Bud" Cummings Jr.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Art Watson officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at the funeral home.
