OBITUARY: Pauline “Polly” Dietz Tompkins

Pauline "Polly" Dietz Tompkins, 82 of Equality, passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1932, in Equality, the daughter of Fredrick Leo and Ruth Olive (Pritchett) Dietz. On Nov. 22, 1957, she married Robert H. "Tom" Tompkins and had over 57 great years together, with the first 31 of which were spent in the United States Air Force.

Polly was also an Air Force veteran.

Polly is survived by her loving husband, Tom Tompkins of Equality; one son, Daniel and Lori Tompkins of Midlothian, Texas; two sisters, Joann Rexing of Equality and Rita "Billie" Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Danielle Tompkins of Waxahachie, Texas, and Danny Tompkins of Midlothian, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donald Tompkins; one granddaughter, Shannon Marie Tompkins; two sisters, Hazel Wenzel and Mary "Tede" Zirkelbach; and two brothers, Don "Rass" and Robert "Butch" Dietz.

As per her wishes, there will be no formal funeral service and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality will be in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Kateri Catholic Church Building Fund at www.stkateri.net.
