Dist. 300 to seat new board member; other items are calendar, summer work, sales tax and maternity leave

The Du Quoin Board of Education meets at 6:30 p.m.on Thursday.

The board will seat newly appointed board member Luke Davison, who fills the vacancy created following the death of Charles "Beaver" Rice.

That will being the board back to a full seven members who include Mike Ward, John Vancil, Paul Brock, Denis Cole, Zach McPherson, Larry Valier and Davison.

The board will consider and adopt a school calendar for the 2015-2016 school year. The board will discuss personnel and budget planning for the 2015-2016 school year.

The board will discuss summer maintenance work and a countywide school facilities sales tax informational meeting.

The board will go into executives session to discuss a maternity leave for Dacia Harsy which will tentatively begin May 28, 2015.

The board will consider the re-employment of probationary and tenured staff for the 205-2016 school year as well as the annual reduction-in-force notice for certain extra-curricular positions.
