Roots Road section to close March 16
<span>The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that Roots Road between Oakview Road and Collins Road in Randolph County will be closed beginning March 16, weather permitting.</span>
<span>This closure is necessary for the removal and replacement of the existing bridge deck carrying Roots Road over the Union Pacific Railroad.</span>
<span>A marked detour will be utilized in both directions. Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Bluff Road, then onto Route 155 and back to Route 3.</span>
<span>Westbound traffic will be detoured via Route 3 to Route 155 to Bluff Road. Roots Road is anticipated to reopen by December 1, weather permitting.</span>
<span>The contractor on this project is Halverson Construction of Springfield. Joseph G. Gasaway is the supervising field engineer for the illinois Department of Transportation in the area.</span>
