Reception Friday 5-8 p.m. for photo exhibit at Library of Arts

The works of four outstanding Du Quoin photographers will be on display this month and next at the Library of Arts in Du Quoin. The gallery is located just north of Du Quoin City Hall. Here is a schedule for the exhibit and for a number of upcoming "painting parties."

March through April 30, 2015 -- photography show. Jean Bullock, Bob Cook, Sharon Lawless and Jon Montgomery will have photographs on exhibit and for sale through April 30. The reception will be Friday, March 13, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m..

Saturday, March 7, 2 to 4, Brittany Elswick will once again host the "Put Some Glitter in Your Life" painting party.

Saturday, March 14, 2 to 4, Joyce Elledge will present a "Whimsical Tree" painting party.

Thursday, March 19, 6:30 to 8 p,m,, first meeting of a "Girls' Night Out" painting party. The Library of Arts plans to offer a girls' night out every third Thursday of the month, first one being March 19. "We plan to paint, chat, etc., whatever else anyone wants to do, and just have fun." says posts at the gallery.

All painting party events are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. All supplies are furnished as well as coffee, tea or water. You may bring your own beverage and/or snacks.
