27th Du Quoin Youth Club Charity Ball March 14 at fairgrounds a certain sell-out
The 27th annual "Midnight Masquerade" charity ball is promising to be "the event of the year" with good food, great auction and raffle items and awesome entertainment!
This year's charity ball is Saturday, March 14 to be held at the Exhibition Hall, Du Quoin State Fairgrounds. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres, raffles and silent auction. The buffet dinner will be served from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. with Cathy Chaney and Ricky Rover Rooter Roasters providing the food and Cathy Chaney, Kalin's Café and the Du Quoin High School foods class providing delightful desserts.
The live auction will begin at 8 p.m. and is offering some wonderful items.
The raffles will include the ever-popular "Pick of the Litter Raffle", the "Shotgun Raffle", the returning "Treasure Raffle" and the "Draw Down" Raffle, which guarantees a $3,000 payout!
Along with the raffles will be a wonderful assortment of silent auction items. And, of course, the showcase event of the evening will be the addition of the "Super Silent" as well as the live auction.
A brief listing of the Super Silent and live auction items is as follows: Six Taylor Swift concert tickets with limousine (sold-out show Sept. 28 , 2015 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis. Tickets were acquired even before they went on sale), family fitness package to Doc Z's with 20 personal training sessions, John A. Logan tuition waiver, Rend Lake College $1,000 scholarship and two Mathis Family $1,000 scholarships to your choice of JALC, Rend Lake or SIU, 5-night vacation to Dominican Republic, "Enjoy the Ride" party bus for 35-40 through Wine Country, four (4) 2015 Country MegaTickets, NASCAR Racing Experience, diamond necklace and ring, 3-day turkey hunt for two, piano coffee/wine bar, St. Louis Casino Package for 10 with limousine, MorMad Shooting Complex concealed carry package for two , racing packages, Willie McGee and Michael Joseph Wacha autographed jerseys and more!
The host for the charity ball is Keenan Rice and auctioneers, Steve McGriff and Randy Juenger, will again provide an entertaining and lively auction.
The live entertainment will be featured throughout the evening. Jeff Wisely will begin the entertainment with his jazz saxophone along with Chandra Gilliam. "We Got It Covered" will be playing country/classic rock after the live auction followed by Chris Harris providing DJ music. There should be music for everyone's enjoyment and pleasure.
David Hill is also providing a photo booth, which should add another element of fun to the evening.
