Sheriff scholarship available

Saline County Sheriff Keith Brown has once again announced parameters for applying for a scholastic scholarship offered by the Illinois Sheriff's Association.

The annual program requires that applicants be permanent Illinois residents, school where scholarship will be utilized must be an institution of higher learning within Illinois and students must be enrolled as a full time student during the 2015-16 school year.

The ISA will award $53,000 throughout the state. The Saline County scholarship will be for $500.

Applications are available at the Saline County Sheriff's Office or over the Internet at www.ilsheriff.org. There is an application and essay question.

The applications must be returned by March 15, 2015.
