A season to remember

Cassidy Rice's softball team at Georgia College has created a locker for her late, great father, Beaver Rice. The Du Quoin Board of Education member passed away last December. The team also had a team shirt made with his name on it and has dedicated the whole softball season to his memory. The team is currently 9-0 at home and 4-0 away. Cassidy is an exercise science major at Georgia College. While attending Du Quoin High School Cassidy played under Du Quoin coach Jason James, was MVP all four years, four time All-Conference team member, three time all-stater, two time first team all-state. made regional championship three years, made sectionals her junior year, also lettered in volleyball and basketball and was a high honors student all four years. At Georgia College, nothing about this great young woman has changed.
