OBITUARY: Mabel Stone

Mabel Stone, age 90 of Raleigh, passed away at 9:51 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at her residence in Raleigh surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Mabel was born on Tuesday, June 3, 1924, to the late Benjamin Franklin Kingston and Mary (Kellems) Kingston, in Kuttawa, Ky. She married Charles F. Stone on Saturday, Oct. 17, 1942, and he preceded her in death on April 2, 2008. Mabel was a member of Mt. Pleasant Social Brethren Church in Raleigh.

Mabel is survived by a daughter, Hazel Tucker of Raleigh; son, Frank Stone of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Sheryl Pearce Bramlet and husband Darrin of Raleigh, and Janice Hull and husband Tony of Harrisburg; great-grandchildren, Sarah Hileman and husband STGCS (SW) Gary of Jacksonville, Fla., Elizabeth Siler and husband Jeff of Harrisburg, Jeremiah Hull of Harrisburg, Dustin Bramlet of Eldorado, Danielle Bramlet of Eldorado, Dresdyn Bramlet of Raleigh; great-great grandchildren, Caleb Hileman of Jacksonville, Fla., Mackenzie Hileman of Jacksonville, Fla., Lillian Siler of Harrisburg; sister, Betty Hooten and husband Lowell of Crawfordsville, Ind.; sister, Jennie Crawford of Middletown, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Charles, Mabel was preceded in death by three brothers, Homer Kingston, Hubert Kingston and Benjamin Franklin Kingston Jr.; sister, Anna Marie Kingston; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Stone.

Funeral services for Mabel Stone will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2015, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Blake Bradley will officiate and burial will follow in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
