St. John Lady Hornets win tournament

<span>CHESTER -- The 4th Annual Vicki Jany Memorial Volleyball Tournament was held Feb. 27-28.</span>

<span>This was the former Lutheran School "A" Team Volleyball Tournament that was renamed four years ago.</span>

<span>Eight teams from the surrounding area were in this tournament: St. Mary's Catholic School; Marissa Grade School; St. Mark's Lutheran Steeleville; Steeleville Grade School; St. John Lutheran School Chester; Chester Grade School; Trinity St. John Immanuel Nashville and St. John Lutheran School Red Bud.. </span>

<span>The first place winner was St. John Lutheran Chester. The last time St. John won this tournament was in 2007 and this was the fifth tournament win in school history. The Lady Hornets are coached by Chad Koenegstein, Andrea Luthy and Lindsey Breithaupt.</span>

<span>St. Mark's Lutheran took second place while St. John Immanuel took third. The consolation championship went to the Marissa Comets.</span>
