Elks Monopoly Tournament at Morello's Saturday
The 34th annual Elks Lodge Monopoly Tournament fundraiser will be held this year at Morello's Restaurant in Harrisburg on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Proceeds will go to the veterans' organization Team Red, White and Blue. Team RWB is a veteran's organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of America's veterans by connecting to their community through physical and social activities.
The event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with registration and the first round of the tournament is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. There will be a silent and live auction, raffles and live entertainment from Magic 95.5 FM DJ Todd Bryant.
"We still need some businesses as sponsors," organizer Jennifer Cain said. "The numbers are way down this year."
Cain stated that among area businesses who have donated to the event are Peoples Bank of Harrisburg and the newly opened Shawnee Community Center. Businesses, groups or individuals may help the event in a number of ways, ranging from full sponsorship of a player through partial sponsorships to donation of items for the silent auction or donations of food, beverages and decorations. Audience admission is $10 at the door and includes food, but not drinks. There will be a cash bar available in the restaurant.
For further information contact the Elks Lodge at 618-252-5000, Jennifer Cain at 618-499-2111 or Genny Craig at 618-841-4366.
The Elks Lodge of Harrisburg invites local residents to come out and support our veterans and enjoy an evening of fun, Monopoly, music, auctions, raffles and food at Morello's this Saturday.
