Council approves 3 vehicle purchases

At the regularly scheduled Tuesday meeting of the Eldorado City Council the council approved the purchase of one dump truck and pickup truck for the Water Department and a backhoe for the Street Department.

Finance and Water Commissioner Tim McGrath brought the matter of the Water Department vehicles before the Council and the council approved the purchase of a Ford 250 pickup truck from Marion Ford Hyundai for $23,891 after discounts. The list price is $37,425.

The two ton International dump truck was purchased for $65,987. The factory list price was $84,301. A $12,000 trade-in of an old truck was part of the deal.

Purchase of a CASE 590 Super N Loader Backhoe was approved for the price of $58,500 from Diamond Equipment.

Annual treatment of the city's non-aerated lagoon was approved at the price of $8,232.

Public Property and Fire Commissioner Jeff Minor confirmed that the city's cleanup days will be in mid-April.

Alene Carr of Southeastern Illinois Regional Planning and Development Commission sought the council's approval of a list of amendments to Saline County's Enterprise Zone.

A roadblock request from the American Legion for Feb. 28 was approved.
