OBITUARY: Franklin Lee Wren
Franklin Lee Wren, age 76 of Harrisburg, died at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind., at 10:05 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015.
He was born in Harrisburg, on April 9, 1938, to the late Cecil "Scotty" and Leoda (Partain) Wren. On Sept. 15, 1956, he married the former Judy C. Hicks and she survives. Franklin previously worked for the City of Harrisburg Water Department for 26 years, later working at Sahara Coal Company for 10 years, then returning to the City of Harrisburg Sewer Department. He retired in 2002. He was a member of the Harrisburg Masonic Lodge.
Franklin enjoyed camping and being the camp host at Lake Glendale Camp Ground. His greatest joy in life were his grand daughters, Megan and McKayla.
Franklin is survived by his wife, Judy Wren of Harrisburg; two sons, Dale Wren and wife Lisa of Marion, and Mark Wren and wife Kelly of Harrisburg; granddaughters, Megan Wren and McKayla Wren; and cousin, Juanita (Wren) Devillez.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil "Scotty" Wren; mother, Alpha Leoda Wren; and grandson Chris Puttman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Mike Smith will officiate, burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with Masonic Rites held at 7 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family through the obituary page at www.reedfuneralchapel.com.
