Harrisburg Library closed for roof leak

Harrisburg District Library was closed Saturday and Sunday due to a roof leak.

A combination of weekend snow, rain and thaw snuck in through cracks.

The leak was discovered Saturday morning and appears to begin on the northeast side of the building near the entrance. As roof leaks are wont to do, this one runs along the rafters and comes through the ceiling in many other places.

The main desk was covered with plastic sheeting to protect it. Library employee Ray Gorman said the library board has contacted professional roofing firms and has at this time no time frame to predict when the leak will be fixed.

The plan is to be open Monday said Gorman.
