Top Republicans in Du Quoin Feb. 28 for Lincoln Day dinner
Downstate Republicans will be in a celebratory mood when they hit Du Quoin on Saturday, Feb. 28 for the annual Lincoln Day Dinner at the American Legion.
Special guests will be Sen. Dave Luechtefeld and newly elected state representative Terri Bryant. Republicans have a new Illinois governor.
In Perry County, the Steve Bareis (sheriff) and Mary Jane Craft (treasurer) wins put six Republicans in key Perry County positions. They join board members Bobby Kelly and Sam Robb, state's attorney David Stanton and assessor John Batteau.
"We are awaiting responses from others in Springfield," said Republican Women's chairwoman Michelle Rodely.
There will be a 5 p.m. social hour and a 6 p.m. program and dinner. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
The menu will include seasoned chicken breasts, twice-baked potato casserole, green beans, salad and desserts.
