Prep Hoops: Going Out In Style

It was a curtain call that Eldorado's Richard Graceffa and Nathan Burnett gladly came out and took a bow for.

The two seniors were honored as part of senior night, prior to the start of Eldorado's contest with Johnston City at Duff-Kingston Gymnasium Friday night, after the tip the two went to work.

Burnett had a game-high 23 points, while Graceffa had six, five of which came in the first quarter as Eldorado routed Johnston City 68-35 Friday.

As good as Eldorado's offense was against the Indians, the defense was just as special.

The Eagles forced Johnston City into 21 turnovers and held the Indians to 13-for-39 shooting from the floor and 3-for-15 from 3-point range. At the free throw line, JC went 6-for-11 on the night.

On the flip side, Eldorado went 22-for-41 from the floor, while knocking down 3-of-10 shots from behind the arc. The Eagles finished the night hitting 19-of-29 foul shots.

The two played a see-saw battle to start the game, but after Johnston City tied the game at seven, Eldorado went to work.

The Eagles got three buckets by Burnett and a basket from Graceffa to build an 18-7 first quarter lead with 3:06 to play. Eldorado closed out the first up 22-11.

From there, the rout was on, Eldorado outscored Johnston City 12-5 in the second quarter, all while holding the Indians to 2-of-9 from the floor to lead 34-16 at the break.

After limiting Johnston City to 2-of-10 shooting from the field in the third quarter and outscoring the opposition 15-6, Eldorado led 49-22 going into the game's final eight minutes.

Max Kaiser joined Burnett in double-digit scoring as the 6-foot-2 sophomore tacked on 10 points.

Clay Boulds added eight points for Eldorado, while Adam Partridge tossed in seven points, all coming from the foul line in the fourth quarter. Ethan Partridge finished with four points, while Attebury had three points and Payton Price tacked on two in the win.

Johnston City was led by Gage Hall and Brandon Bunk, who each tallied 12 points for the Indians.
