Jaime Evans holds a Ruger rifle, American Farmers Edition, that her family is donating to be auctioned at the Saline County Stockmen's Banquet and Auction on Saturday, March 7.

The 4-H clubs in Saline County get support from the Saline County Stockmen each year and the largest fundraiser is their Annual Banquet and Auction.

The Stockmen will be hosting their 25th Annual Banquet and Auction Saturday, March 7 at the Bonan Business Center (formerly the SIC Foundation Building) with social hour beginnning at 6 p.m. and the meal beginning at 7 p.m.

The Stockmen's Association - primarily rural residents and business people in the farm and related industries - has long been a key supporter of youth programs within the county, especially the 4-H program and the Saline County Fair.

Saline County Stockmen financially supports 4-H in many ways including the 4-H Auction, maintaining youth buildings and livestock shows at the Saline County Fair, and assisting youth in purchasing livestock for showing.

They also support area FFA chapters' attendance at the FFA National Convention as well as giving college scholarships for graduating seniors.

"We are in the process of selling tickets," said Stockman Danny Evans."We want to help and support the youth of our area."

Tickets for the steak dinner will not be available at the door, but can be purchased from any Stockmen member for $30.

Tickets are available by contacting Dan Evans at 841-1267 or Carl Payne at 926-4482.
