OBITUARY: Wesley E. "Bud” Flynn

Wesley E. "Bud" Flynn, 72 of Harrisburg, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, in Flora.

He was born on April 9, 1942, to the late Cleo and Rebecca (Kennedy) Doubet. Bud was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for the Harrisburg Police Department and then became a prison guard and he taught auto mechanics at the Job Corps. He was an avid drag racer and won many first place trophies at the Accelaquarter race track in the 60's.

Surviving is his daughter, Cheryl Lovellette of Eldorado; two grandchildren, Ashley Brown and Garrett (Tara) Brown; and two great-grandchildren, Coltyn and Anzley Brown. He is also survived by a sister, Phyllis Joiner of Harrisburg; two nephews, Bill Wright and John Wright of Harrisburg; and a niece, Julie Mayhew.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Mayhew.

As per his wishes he was cremated and will be buried at a later date. Watson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
