OBITUARY: Andrew James Harper

Andrew James Harper, 85, resident of Eldorado passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at his residence.

Jim was born March 14, 1929, in Wasson to the late Lowery Ellis and Ruby Fay (Oliver) Harper. On Nov. 28, 1952, he married the former Donna K. Bramlet who survives. They were married 62 years. Jim served in the US Marines during WWII and in the US Navy during the Korean War. He served on board the U.S.S. Missouri. Jim was a retired iron worker and a member of the Local 103 of Evansville. He was a member of the Eldorado First Baptist Church, the Raleigh Masonic Lodge, a life member of the Eldorado VFW, a life member of the Eldorado American Legion and a member of 40&8.

In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by a daughter, Sally (Wayne) Dubble of Omaha; a granddaughter, Christine Dubble of Omaha; three brothers, John Paul Harper, Alvin David Harper and David Gene Harper; two sisters, Joella Ray Hughes and Alice Roxanne; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, William Henry Harper, Robert Ellis Harper, Edward Dale Harper, Gene Matthew Harper and Theodore Oliver Harper; three sisters, Dora Leann Diettrich, Alice Fay Reynolds and Vesta Rose Davidson.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, with the Rev. Randy Plunkett and the Rev. Russell Helton officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery with military rites. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
