Death of jail inmate Jeffrey Nolen investigated
Saline County Coroner Jerry Watson confirmed the death of Saline County Detention Center inmate Jeffrey M. Nolen, 51, Harrisburg, Tuesday.
Nolen was pronounced dead 3:25 p.m. at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Watson said the cause of death remains under investigation by Illinois State Police. Foul play is not suspected.
Nolen, whose last official address was 211 E. McIlrath St., Harrisburg, was arrested 7:25 a.m. Feb. 7 on a charge of enhanced retail theft.
Nolen was the son of ISP investigator, former Saline County Circuit Clerk and Saline County State's Attorney investigator Jack T. Nolen who died in June of 2011.
