OBITUARY: Edwin “Eddie” Bartok

Edwin "Eddie" Bartok, 85 of Eldorado, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, in Eldorado.

Eddie was born in Eldorado on Sept. 27, 1929, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Szmere) Bartok. He was a Army veteran, a member of the Eldorado St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the Ridgway Knight's of Columbus.

On Dec. 17, 1955, in Chinon, France, he married the former Dorothy Joan Drone and she preceded him in death on Sept. 21, 1989.

Surviving are his children: David Bartok of Eldorado, Damian (Ayn) Bartok of Eldorado, Danny (Tracy) Bartok of Harrisburg, Linda (Kent) Gidcumb of Joliet, Patty (Kent) White of Kennesaw, Ga., and Teresa Williford of Eldorado. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother: Gene Bartok of Eldorado; and a sister: Ann Talley of Norris City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Father Abraham Adejoh will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at the Watson Funeral Home.

For those who wish memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery or the St. Kateri and may be left at the funeral home.
