OBITUARY: David Paul Koval
David Paul Koval, 68 of Eldorado, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, in Eldorado.
David was born on July 21, 1946, to the late Edger and Mary Koval.
David was a lifelong resident of Eldorado. He was married 50-plus years to the love of his life, the late Linda Koval. Together they had two children, Kelly (Doug) Schimp of Ridgway and J.D. (Carie) Koval of Eldorado. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Bailey Koval, Nick Schimp, Natalie Schimp, Aidan Koval, Luke Dunstan, Jayda Dunstan and Bella Russell. He is survived by his brother, Mike (Rita) Koval of Hunting Beach, Calif.; and a sister, Barbara (Lawrence) Purdue of Danville. He is also survived by a few special friends, Jerry Cain, Marcy Kolar and the late Bob Hathaway.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Koval.
David was a coal miner at Eagle No. 1 and Eagle No. 2 in Shawneetown for 25-plus years. He was a proud Mason and a member of the Stonefort Masonic Lodge. He also had a passion for hunting, which he pursued until the last days on this earth.
Funeral services for David will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to service time on Thursday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
