OBITUARY: Margaret Lee Killman

Margaret Lee Killman, age 79 of Marion, passed away at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at Helia Healthcare of Energy.

Margaret was born in Eldorado on Feb. 27, 1935, the daughter of Floyd and Velma (Braddock) Greer. She married Charles Kinsall in Piggott, Ark., in 1954. He preceded her in death in 1990. She later married Edward Killman in Carterville on Feb. 12, 2005. He survives in Marion.

Mrs. Killman was a member of the Third Baptist Church in Marion. She taught Sunday School and Bible School for 35 years. She was active in the Republican Party, having served as past president of the Williamson County Women's Republican Party, as well as the vice-chairman for the southern part of the Illinois Republican Women's Club. Margaret had previously worked at the Southeastern Power Plant, the Marion Water Department and the Environmental Protection Agency Department for the State of Illinois.

Survivors include her husband, Ed Killman of Marion; two daughters, Janet and Russell Hock of Irving, Texas, and Beth Hernandez of Lewisville, Texas; stepdaughter, Lori McClellan of Cypress; stepson, Keith Killman of Marion; six grandchildren, Kari Moody, Kevin Kinsall, Kyle Kinsall, Haley Hernandez, Sam Hock, Dylan Hock; great-grandson, Matthew Moody; step grandson, Justin Ballard of Colorado Springs; brother, Jim Greer of Goodyear, Ariz.; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband and one son, Mike Kinsall.

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Tony Auxier officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
