OBITUARY: James T. Coyle
James T. Coyle, 74 of Equality, died at his home at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015.
Jim was born in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Ray and Betty (Staphenhorst) Coyle. He was the owner of Shawnee Telephone Company. Jim married Jane R. Pankey on Dec. 12, 1972, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 10, 2007. He was a Vietnam War veteran and belonged to the McLain-Glover American Legion Post No. 595. Jim was a faithful member of St. Kateri Catholic Church - Equality Chapel and was a member of the choir and the Knights of Columbus in Ridgway.
He is survived by three nephews, Chris and Karen Heberer of Equality, Steve and Tiffany Heberer of Herod and Mike Grisham of Marion; two nieces, Gay and Brent Turner of Equality and Cindy and Bill Roberts of Eldorado.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one sister, Carole A. Heberer.
Visitation for Jim will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality with prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Equality at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, with Father Steven Beatty officiating.
