OBITUARY: Charles Larry Harrelson

Charles Larry Harrelson, 72, resident of Harrisburg, longtime resident of Eldorado, passed away Wednesday Jan. 7, 2015, at St. Marys Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

Larry was born Aug. 10, 1942, in Eldorado to the late Vernon and Martha (McCoy) Harrelson. He married the former Mary Miles, who survives. Larry served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. He was a welder and pipefitter by trade. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Eldorado.

In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by two daughters, Vicki (Ismael) Saldana of Calif., Susie (Wade) Moore of Harrisburg; a brother Tom (Judy) Harrelson of Shawneetown; three grandchildren, Heather Lynn (Matt) Rice of Harrisburg, Jay Jones of Eldorado and Katy Jo Moore of Harrisburg; one great-grandson, Deegan Rice; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Harrelson; and a sister, Donna Porter.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Darrell Ford officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to service time Sunday.
