OBITUARY: Colleen Henshaw

Colleen Henshaw, age 87, former resident of Evansville, Ind., and Carrier Mills passed away peacefully at 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at the Spring Creek Health Center in Murray, Ky.

She was born on April 22, 1927, in Carrier Mills, daughter of the late Hughie Gilchrist and Evon (Kelley) Gilchrist.

On Oct. 29, 1948, she married Charles Henshaw who preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2009.

Colleen and Charlie owned and operated the Henshaw's Department Store in Shawneetown for over 40 years until their retirement in 1991.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Gilchrist.

Private services will be held with burial in the Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills.
