Medicine Shoppe opens new facility in Harrisburg

The Medicine Shoppe pharmacy in Harrisburg has opened a new facility to serve the home health care needs of the area. Home Health Solutions by the Medicine Shoppe cut the ribbon on their new facility on Wednesday afternoon.

Located at 501 E. Sloan St. in Harrisburg, Home Health Solutions offers a very wide range of products and services. The store carries a full range of home health care medical and respiratory equipment and supplies for sale or rent and offers free delivery and set-up of equipment and supplies in our area and across Southern Illinois.

"We wanted to offer more products for our customers," Steve Ledbetter, Medicine Shoppe owner said. "We have an expanded show room here and carry more products and a wider variety of them then we could in the pharmacy building."

Ayan Bartok, Saline County Chamber of Commerce President, members of the chamber of commerce and leading local business owners as well as representative of area care facilities were on hand for the ribbon cutting.

"I am happy to see this building occupied again," Bartok said. "This will be a valuable addition to our business community."

The new store carries medical equipment such as hospital beds, lift chairs, mobility supplies, scooters and catheter supplies. A full range of respiratory supplies is also available. Products ranging from oxygen and portable oxygen generators through nebulizers to CPAP and BiPAP supplies are available. The store also has certified respiratory therapists on staff.

Home Health Solutions manager Scott Bencie stated that the new facility was ready to assist customers with all their needs and can bill to patients insurance and Medicare.

"We are looking forward to serving the needs of patients across Southern Illinois with their home health care needs," Bencie said.
