OBITUARY: Shirley Ann Kelley

Shirley Ann Kelley, 74 of Eldorado, died Nov. 18, 2014, at her residence in Eldorado.

She was born in Equality on Oct. 12, 1940, to the late Elbert and Marie (Slayton) Vailes. She worked in the laborer's union number 1197 out of McLeansboro.

Surviving are her children: James (Butch) Vailes of Broughton and Carl Randolph of West Frankfort; five daughters: Pamelo Patten of Eldorado, Patricia Bennett of Cincinnati, Ohio, Teresa McGill of Evansville, Ind., Gayla (Donald) Anderson of Newburgh, Ind., and Sherri (Theodore Brown Jr.) Kelley of Eldorado. Also surviving are three sisters: Edna Cathy of Carmi, Sandra Kay Cutchins of Carmi and Gracie Jaunita of Carrier Mills. Also surviving is a brother: Jerry Vailes of Norris City. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and many, many great- and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peck Wayne Kelley Jr.; a son Michael Lee Randolph; two grandsons: Justin Anderson and Donald "Rocky" Phillips. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Jesse Vails Sr. and John Vailes Sr.; and three sisters: Francis Butler, Shelby Riley and Sherilynn Cuttrell.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Toby Hise officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to the 1 p.m. service time on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at the funeral home. The family requests no flowers and donations to her funeral expenses instead.
