VOLLEYBALL: Pinckneyville tops Chester to move ahead at Regional

The Lady Panthers advanced at their IHSA Class 2A Volleyball Regional on Monday night, knocking out Chester in two sets, 25-20, 25-12 to earn a spot in the semifinals on Tuesday in Pinckneyville.

Emma Banach led the PCHS offense with nine kills, Sophie Keith added eight. Kaitlyn Sweeney led the team in assists with twenty, Mady Epplin led digs with seventeen.

Fourth-seeded Pinckneyville will meet top-seeded Red bud in Tuesday's semifinal match-up at PCHS with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m. Following that match will be the other semifinal between number two seed Trico and third-seeded Sparta.

The Regional championship match will be on Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. with the winner advancing to the Sparta Sectional next week.
