VOLLEYBALL: Lady Falcons eliminated by Galatia at Norris City
Elverado was knocked out of the IHSA Class A Regional tournament last night in Norris City, dropping their match with Galatia in straight sets, 25-13, 25-15.
"It definitely wasn't our best effort," said Lady Falcons head coach Donette Wheatley. "I hate it for the seniors that it ended this way. Overall, we had a pretty good year, one of the highest finishes in conference at the varsity level."
Team leaders for the night included Cheyenne Abbadusky with four kills, Ellie Winthrop and Kaitlin Lively each with six digs, Baylie McClanahan with three assists, Abbadusky with two blocks, and Lively with six service aces.
Elverado's season comes to an end with an overall record of 9-12. The Lady Falcons were 7-1 in conference play.
Galatia moves on to Tuesday's semifinal in Norris City against the Regional's top seed, Christopher.
