Norman P. Kellerman

Norman P. Kellerman, age 93, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 at 10:32 p.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, Ill.

Norman was born on May 15, 1921 in Pinckneyville, Ill., a son to Adam and Anna Marie (Ledendecker) Kellerman. He proudly served his country and was a veteran of the United States Army/Air Corp serving during World War II. On May 26, 1951, he married Frances Grzegorek in Posen, Ill. and she survives. Norman was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. He had retired as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service after over 30 years of service and had also worked as a farmer all of his life. He was a member of the American Postal Workers Union and enjoyed his grandchildren and tending to his peach trees.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Frances Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Ill.; three sons, Ronald (Nancy) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Ill., Greg (Tammy) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Robert (Amy) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Ill.; three daughters, Carol (James) Brand of Pinckneyville, Ill., Norma Jean (Mike) Gordon of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Francine Kellerman of Georgia; two brothers, Milton "Sonny" ( Theresa) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Ill. and Albert "Al" (Elizabeth) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Ill.; one sister, Mary Ann (Norman) Kellar of Maryland Heights, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Tracy (Darin) Barnes, Eric (Jacki) Brand, Chris (Jacqueline) Brand, Alan Brand, Jamie (Jeremy) Wildermuth, Lindsay Marie Kellerman, Brittany (Mike) Goldman, Derek Kellerman, Ashley (Brian) Crawford and Ryan (Jennifer) Gordon and eight great-grandchildren, Taylor, Victoria, Michael, Madilyn, Tucker, Kennedy, Nathan and Henry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Audrey Kellerman; a brother, Clifford Kellerman and a sister, Theresa Epplin.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. with Father Augustine Ibezimako officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill. with military graveside rites provided by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Friends may call at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday morning at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Masses or St. Bruno Catholic School.
