OBITUARY: Charles John Edwards

Charles John Edwards, age 54, a resident of Anna, passed away at 9:01 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at the Union County Hospital.

He was born on Jan. 11, 1960, in Carbondale, to Robert and Peggy (Kerr) Edwards. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Charles was employed at the J.R. Centre in Anna and participated in Special Olympics in bowling and race walking.

Survivors include his parents: Robert and Peggy Edwards of Harrisburg; two brothers: Philip and wife Karol Edwards of Plano, Texas; and Terry and wife Sheryl Edwards of Henderson, Nevada; his sister: Robyn and husband Greg Dowdy of Benton, Ky.; five nieces and nephews: Bryce Edwards, Lucas Edwards, Bethany and husband Alex Barry, Matthew Edwards and Emily Dowdy. Several aunts, uncles and cousins survive.

Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Harrisburg Church of Christ. Ministers Bob Coburn and Darrell Simon officiated. Burial followed in Pell Cemetery in Massac County. Visitation was 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
